Operation America

Operation America

Operation America is designed to reach an American city by being a cross between a mission trip and an evangelism training program.

Operation America is composed of four main parts:

  1. Two 2-week mission trips
  2. 10-week magabook canvassing program
  3. Bible work team
  4. Integration with a local church

Operation America is unique in that these four parts are run simultaneously in the same location.  Canvassers, mission trip participants, Bible workers, and church members are working together, not in separate “bottles”.  The participants share meals, worships, weekend community outreach events, and fun time together.  This leads to a much more complete sense of ministry, and a respect for workers in each part of the program.  Everyone enjoys gathering at the end of the day and sharing testimonies about outreach.

In 2012 ThisGeneration will be running two Operation America programs.  One in Niagara Falls, NY, and one in Dayton, OH.  There are lots of opportunities to be involved this summer!

Mission Trips

The mission trips are designed to inspire and train young people to be effective witnesses.  The program combines high quality training from experienced evangelism trainers with active outreach in the community.  Each summer our students reach hundreds of people and the program averages more than 300 Bible study leads.

The mission trips have had a profound impact on the lives of the young people attending.  Most attendees voluntarily sign up for the second two weeks after doing the first two.  Young people experience God working in their lives for real.  Each year young people are converted, request baptism, and pledge to become missionaries for life.  The program has inspired a number to attend evangelism training schools such as Mission College, ARISE, AFCOE, and COMPEL.

The mission trips include:

  • Evangelism training
  • Health evangelism training
  • Daily door-to-door outreach
  • Health expos
  • Musical concerts

Mission Trip 1: July 6 – July 22

Mission Trip 2: July 24 – August 5

Ages 13+ are welcome to attend.

Canvassing

ThisGeneration oversees a 10-week canvassing (magabook) program for the New York conference.  The canvassers work for four or five weeks before the start of the mission trip, and then join together with the other students.  Canvassing is the great training for those interested in future ministry work, future leaders, and those that need to earn money for school.

Bible Work Team

The Bible work team follows up on all the leads generated by the mission trips and the canvassers.  The team works with a local church for six months to ensure proper sowing, cultivating, and harvesting.  The team is actively involved with the mission trips to help with training and outreach.  They also train church members how to give Bible studies, and integrate the work of all the segments of the summer program into long-term fruit for the local church.

Church Integration

ThisGeneration partners with a local church to ensure that the impact made is not just a summer splash by “those young people.” Revival and training programs are held with the church in the six months leading up to the summer program.  Then, church members are encouraged to participate in the summer programs, and the Bible work team works with the church to help run effective sowing and cultivating programs leading up to a final prophecy series.  The team also trains the members to follow up leads and become comfortable giving Bible studies.

Churches that are interested in hosting a ThisGeneration summer program can contact us and begin the process of submitting a request.
